This project aims to mobilize, carry out studies and assist in the creation of at least 3 RPPNs in the Pajeú river basin region in Pernambuco. This region is key for the conservation of biodiversity, having in its limits, the presence of several areas identified as priority for the conservation of the Caatinga, where endangered birds are found.

The aim is to mobilize social actors interested in creating RPPNs through workshops. After mobilizing interested parties, all technical studies will be conducted to attest to the potential for biodiversity conservation and legal analysis of land documentation for the creation of RPPNs.

The project also foresees the adoption of targeted communication strategies on the theme of creating private protected areas and the execution of a course with social actors and local institutions, aiming to promote the development of capacities and educational information related to the theme of creation of PAs in the region of Pajeú.

As a consequence of the actions of the project, at least 3 protected areas of the Caatinga biome are expected to be created, in addition to the training of human resources capable of expanding the future possibilities of creating RPPNs, also bringing the horizon of implementation of these areas through a management plan at a later time.
